Experimental Typeface

Experimental Typeface

Client: University Brief
Format: Typeface & Poster
Year: 2014

Tasked with the challenge of creating an experimental typeface that reflected the content of a Haiku poem written by the Creative Writing course at University.

Real grass was used to craft each letter of the alphabet, with each letter being digitised and applied to an exisiting typeface. The existing typeface was used as a clipping mask on specific areas of the grass lettering to emphasise the idea of grass dying and growing.

This typeface and poster were part of an experimental typeface exhibition at Havas Lynx in Manchester.
